ARTIST PROFILE
DIANNE SURTEES
Dianne has been an enthusiastic art group member for more than 30 years and has participated in many exhibitions from Auckland to Rotorua over the years. A highlight was being invited to stage a mother-and-daughter exhibition, with her soft pastel portraits of pets and flowers shown alongside her mother’s landscape oil paintings.
She enjoys the challenge of rendering textures such as animal fur and capturing the distinct personalities of each pet in her commissioned pieces. More recently, Dianne has extended her artistic practice to pottery, exploring form through birds, flowers and whimsical hearts.
